Buy a used Volcano Vaporizer

The Volcano is a Storz & Bickel desktop, not a portable. Used, it is worth buying when it stays at home and the listing names the version. Classic is analogue convection with a balloon. Digit adds a display. Hybrid means both a balloon and a tube, and Storz & Bickel also describes the Hybrid heater as a patented combination of convection and conduction. Medical models require their own documentation; a standard Volcano is not automatically a medical device.

Price guide

Compare the vaporizer listings on this page with each other. An accessory price is not the device price. Compare Classic, Digit and Hybrid separately; current asking prices are not confirmed sale prices.

What to check before you buy

• Check Easy Valve completeness, pump and airflow, balloon wear and the chamber. Missing or worn balloon parts change the value more than a small price gap.
• Compare Classic, Digit and Hybrid separately. Classic is analogue convection with a balloon. Digit adds a display. Hybrid means both balloon and tube, and Storz & Bickel describes the Hybrid heater as a patented combination of convection and conduction. Medical models require their own documentation; a standard Volcano is not automatically a medical device.
• Storz & Bickel states a 2-year warranty, plus an optional extra year only if the original owner registered within 4 weeks, for eligible models under the applicable terms. A private sale does not automatically transfer it, and proof of purchase is required.

Typical risks

• A listing that says only Volcano, without Classic, Digit, Hybrid or Medic, is not comparable with a specific version.
• Worn balloons, a weak pump or an incomplete Easy Valve set can make a low headline price a poor buy.

Used Volcano Classic, Digit or Hybrid?

Volcano Classic

Analogue convection desktop that fills a balloon. There is no tube and no combined heater on this version.

Check age, the power supply, pump airflow, balloon wear and whether the Easy Valve set is complete.

Volcano Digit

The balloon desktop with a display added. It is its own version, not a Hybrid.

Check the display, buttons, pump and airflow, and do not price it as a Hybrid.

Volcano Hybrid

Supports both a balloon and a tube. Storz & Bickel also describes the Hybrid heater as a patented combination of convection and conduction. Both meanings apply.

The tube, balloon, chamber and Easy Valve set should be complete. Medical models require their own documentation; a standard Volcano is not automatically a medical device.
